What a great day to remember our freedom. Even with all of the politics and debates over different issues we are a blessed people. We live in a free country, we do have freedoms and privileges that no other people in the world get to enjoy.
I am grateful for our founding fathers who had the guts to pledge their lives and their sacred honor in creating what we enjoy today.
I am grateful for a good job. I had to work yesterday and what a blessing! What a blessing to have a job and have the ability to provide for my family.
After work, Katie picked me up at the house and we went to my brothers house just a street away. We enjoyed some burgers, hotdogs, fruit and swimming. Then we watched the kids play with some sparklers and other small fireworks. Finally we drove down the road where a local church was putting on a fireworks show. The boys loved it. Happy 4th of July!

Lawn Mower Face Lift
Just over a month ago we moved into a new house (new to us and renting). We love the area and the house. We have a nice side yard and back yard with grass. So, we needed to buy a lawn mower. I found this one on craigslist and Katie went and picked it up for me while I was at work.
It didn't look very pretty but it runs well. (it since has sprung a gas leak from under the gas tank that I have not been able to stop) So, I decided to clean it up, sand it down and repaint it. I am happy with how it turned out.

We refinished a dresser!
Katie and I love looking on Pinterest and different blogs at all of the dressers that people refinish. We always wanted to try our luck at it and we finally did.
Katie looked on craigslist until she found a dresser for cheap. She bought the sand paper, wood filler, primer and paint. Over the next few days we went to work.
We are happy with how our first dresser turned out and we are excited to do a dresser and a crib for the baby's room.
